Kalinchowk is essentially destined to explore the spiritual ambiance of Kalinchowk Temple situated placidly in the Dolakha district of northeastern Nepal. It is arguably one of the finest and gratifying short tours starting from Kathmandu towards the northeast region featured with incredibly natural and cultural basins. Being a less touristic destination, this short tour package in Nepal offers atypical short hiking experience that is innately peaceful and calm. The highest point of this trail stands at Kalinchowk Temple with the elevation of 3842 meters above the sea level. The temple is duly sacred to Hindu devotees and is believed to be the adobe of Goddess Kali, a vicious manifestation of Hindu Goddess Durga.
Habitually, our Kalinchowk Tour 1N 2D starts with a long day drive from Kathmandu, plying through the Araniko Highway towards east and northeast. The drive is simply an awesome scenic drive especially once the road infiltrates out of the bustling city and emerges along the calm countryside. En route our drive, we check at Khadichour to change the direction towards the southeast to reach Charikot. From Charikot, we intercept northeast road towards Kalinchowk. But Kalinchowk is not the destination today, we will stay in the village called Kuri.
Kuri Village is the gateway to the holy Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple. This beautiful small village is situated at 3450m right below the hills of Kalinchowk, always welcoming the visitors with warm hospitality. It’s around a 1 and half hour uphill walk from Kuri to reach Kalinchowk temple (3842m) and we will hike there the next day early. After the short rewarding excursion at Kalinchowk the next day, we will be descending to Kuri and drive off along the road to Charikot, the headquarter of Dolakha district and proceed to visit Dolakha Bhimsen temple. Our tour concludes after arriving at Kathmandu in the evening.
The major highlights of Kalinchowk will be relishing the vista of mountains like Annapurna, Lamjung, Manaslu, Ganesh, Shisha Panga, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal, Gauri Shankar and many more. The sunset and the sunrise view are just blissful from the Kalinchowk hill. There is a cable car facility as well from Kuri to Kalinchowk and back. To explore or expedite the travel one can use the cable car with extra payment as well.
